Leonie has over 6 years of experience in political affairs and international programme management, with a special focus on democratic governance and conflict prevention in post-conflict and fragile states. Through extensive field work in Sudan, Rwanda and Vietnam, she has built expertise in political analysis and coordination, human rights and civil society programming, as well as gender mainstreaming. Before joining DRI, Leonie worked for four years as an advisor to the European Union Delegation in Khartoum, and previously for GIZ and the United Nations. Leonie holds master degrees in political science from the Free University Berlin and in international public management from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. She is fluent in English, French and German and has some knowledge of Spanish and Arabic.
