Since November 2013, Democracy Reporting International, in a consortium with Electoral Reform Services International (ERIS), had been delivering a project to enhance state building and democratic development in the context of Yemen’s political transition.

The project aimed to increase transparency of the electoral process in line with international standards, as the well as improved institutional capacity of the electoral administration to deliver credible elections. It also supported the establishment of a democratic political culture by strengthening capacities of key stakeholders to contribute to the legislative process.

Due to the drop out of our partner organisation ERIS and later on the outbreak of the civil war, DRI’s Yemen project has been on hold since 2015.
