At a glance: Slovenia's elections and the rule of law

This Sunday, there are not one, but two important elections happening in the European Union. Apart from the French presidential run-off, Slovenia is electing a new parliament and government.

Why do these elections matter and how does the rule of law play into them? We've got you covered with our at-a-glance overview.

We would like to thank Katarina Bervar Sternad, Director, Legal-Informational Centre for NGOs, and Jaka Kukavica, Researcher, European University Institute, for their contributions.

Democracy Reporting International (DRI) works to improve public understanding of the rule of law in the EU as part of the re:constitution programme funded by Stiftung Mercator. Sign up for DRI’s newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out more about the rule of law in Europe.
