The covid-19 pandemic in Tunisia: An analysis of the legal framework

Tunisia, like every country in the world, is facing the covid-19 pandemic. To limit the spread of this virus, Tunisian authorities first introduced a number of measures within the ordinary legal framework before announcing a lockdown and curfew in all states from mid-March to early June 2020. This required resorting to a state of emergency, which also deferred the Tunisian Parliament's lawmaking powers to the Prime Minister.

This brief examines the most important problems raised by the extraordinary legal framework that was put in place.
