Background:

Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.

DRI is currently recruiting a full-time Senior Project Officer for its Country Office in Pakistan. We are in search of an experienced Senior Project Officer with excellent programme management skills in the democratic development sector and with the ability to fit into DRI’s culture of delivery, excellence and teamwork. In collaboration with, and under the supervision of the Project Manager/ Democratic Governance Expert, you will provide project management and oversee project implementation and delivery.

Your Tasks:

  • Ensures coordination (where necessary) between the donor, DRI and consultants/ experts and manage the implementation of project activities and expert deliverables.
  • Leads on designated activities, including development of concept notes and agendas and coordinating activity logistics with the administration team.
  • Support and deliver on production of regular reports and infographics based on the data.
  • Support and deliver on the planning of expert visits and expert stakeholder outreach.
  • Represents DRI at relevant events and meetings.
  • Leads on designated activities’ monitoring and evaluation, including preparation of event and training reports, reviewing feedback forms and tracking project outputs.
  • Support implementation of other project activities, including contributing to research, technical/political briefings to decision-makers and workshops.
  • Supervise and manage the work of the Provincial Coordinators, Project Officer and consultants.
  • Other relevant duties, as required.

Your Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in social sciences, public administration, development, or a related field;
  • At least five years of relevant/progressive professional experience managing projects related to democracy development, governance or related fields, citizen participation, human rights, preferably in an international NGO;
  • Proven experience in having worked on projects funded by a variety of donors, preferably including DFID.
  • Knowledge of international democracy standards, parliamentary strengthening institutional development.
  • Strong administrative track record, including some staff and financial management.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu
