Our team worldwide

At Democracy Reporting International, we are proud of the dedication and enthusiasm of our staff across our eight offices, working together to promote democracy worldwide every day.

Meet some of our colleagues below and hear what they enjoy most about working at DRI.

Madeline Brady

Digital Democracy Programme Officer (HQ)

"I am passionate about the opportunities and threats that new technologies pose to democracy. As a part of DRI’s Digital Democracy team, I think about ways to solve the world’s emerging digital challenges. From researching online violence against women to making recommendations to policymakers on deepfakes as a disinformation threat, each week brings exciting new questions and possibilities."

André Sleiman

County Representative (Lebanon)

"What I like the most about DRI’s work in Lebanon is our commitment to enabling a democratic system in which everyone is empowered to participate freely and openly. Growing up in a post-war setting, I witnessed the transformation of my country into a fragile state grappling with institutionalised corruption and an ever-shrinking civic space. That is why I wanted to become a change agent and be part of a larger community of democracy advocates. Working on good governance, the rule of law, and democratic change for me is a vocation, and joining DRI has been a wonderful journey of learning and contributing to this mission."

Wassim B'chir

Office Director (Tunisia)

“I joined DRI in 2011 after the Jasmine Revolution to contribute to the democratic transition and help my country, Tunisia, in addition to working in my preferred field of finance and administration. The most interesting moment of my day is monitoring budgets and playing with figures to manage our budgets effectively. When I started, I thought that it would only be short-term. But I saw our office grow step by step, increasing in size, getting more and more valuable projects and developing a good reputation in Tunisia. I was proud to accompany this gradual growth and now, after 10 years, I am the Office Director of DRI Tunisia. Working with a competent, open, complementary and friendly team is such a joy.”

Muhammad Nasir

Head of Finance & Administration (Pakistan)

"I started working for DRI in 2010. As a financial management professional, I worked with people from different nationalities and diverse professional backgrounds. What I love most about DRI is its work environment. Employees are respected and cared for with recognition and career growth opportunities. I think that a good working environment is a key factor in forming great teams who produce great results. At DRI, you feel a real sense of ownership of what you are doing. Teams are highly committed to contribute and add value to people’s lives."

Rebeka Alexander

Finance Officer (Sri Lanka)

“Working with DRI in finance has been a satisfying and productive experience for me. I get to be creative and work with a dynamic team that puts effort into each and every step. DRI provides amazing support to Sri Lanka to ensure democratic standards and good governance, which in turn make for good citizens. The events that we put on stimulate my mind and help expand my knowledge. I am blessed to be holding my current role, which provides me with such enrichment.”

Cartney Pacheco Rabelo

Programme Associate (HQ)

"I joined DRI in 2019 during my postgraduate studies in Peace and Conflict Studies, following my dream of promoting social justice, and it has been an inspiring journey. I truly enjoy this valuable opportunity to develop democracy-related projects worldwide. My work on monitoring, evaluation and learning gives me both strategic and operational know-how to formulate and implement different social projects. Each day we face different challenges, and it is very motivating to be part of our diverse, dynamic, and friendly work environment. I enjoy interacting with colleagues from our seven country offices and growing together on DRI’s mission of promoting democratic values."
