Give Tunisians a Voice

What are ways for citizens to directly participate in politics beyond voting in elections? Could they get more involved in their villages and city neighbourhoods? Where is Tunisia on its journey towards meaningful participatory democracy at the local level?

The new  constitution of 2014 includes a commitment to decentralising power: Meaningful political decentralisation must be accompanied by a democratisation of local governance. The new Tunisian constitution is quite unique in that it explicitly provides for mechanisms of local participatory democracy which allows for citizen participation mechanisms beyond the ballot box.
