Local governance Tunisia

Give Tunisians a Voice

The new  constitution of 2014 includes a commitment to decentralising power: Meaningful political decentralisation must be accompanied by a democratisation of local governance. The new Tunisian constitution is quite unique in that it explicitly provides for mechanisms of local participatory democracy which allows for citizen participation mechanisms beyond the ballot box.
